As a National Health Service Corps Site, we promise to

• Serve all patients
• Offer discounted fees for patients who qualify
• Not deny services based on a person's race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or inability to pay
• Accept most insurances, including Medicaid, Medicare, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), TNCare, and some Private Insurances

We suggest calling the Access Center before you come in for your first appointment to get all insurance verified.

Payments
Payments are due at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, money orders, debit and credit cards.

 
Sliding Fee Scale
CAREY offers a sliding fee scale to help cover the cost of your bill. Our sliding fee scale is based on the number of individuals in the house and the total household income. When you call to set up your first appointment, professionals in our Access Center will explain more about this fee scale and will assess a fee based on your individual circumstances.

 
Behavioral Health Safety Net
If you do not have insurance or TNCare, you may be eligible to apply for Behavioral Health Safety Net. Behavioral Health Safety Net is a grant through the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health that will cover your services at CAREY. Behavioral Health Safety Net is based on income and diagnosis.

In order to apply for Behavioral Health Safety Net, please bring the following items to your first visit:
• Birth certificate OR social security card
• Photo ID
• Valid piece of mail with name and address (bill, etc.)
• Proof of income (check stub, bank statement, letter of support if you have no income)

Children's Behavioral Health Safety Net

Eligibility:

• Age 3-17
• Tennessee Resident
• US Citizen or Qualified Alien
• Mental Health Diagnosis (can be obtained at intake)
• Not in long-term Inpatient or Residential Facility
• Not in state legal custody
• No family income limits

Services:

• Assessment and Evaluation
• Individual, Group, and Family* Therapy
• Case Management*
• Family Support Services*
• Psychiatric Medication Management
• Pharmacy Assistance and Coordination*
• Help with Transportation*

*Services also available to those who have CoverKids or private, commercial insurance.

All services available to those without insurance or those who have exhausted their outpatient behavioral health coverage.
